Report 001: “Post-Tension Cable Experiment to Access the Effectiveness of PTG-104 Grout as Remedial Action Against Corrosion and SCC Damage (Full Scale Testing)”- Prepared by Hoogensen Metallurgical Engineering Ltd.- February, 1995.

The full-scale laboratory test involved stressing three pairs of cables and filling the plastic surrounding the cable with a salt solution. After two months of exposure to this corrosive environment, one cable from each pair was grouted with PTG-104, while the second cable of the pair remained filled with the salt water solution.

Timed removals of the cable pairs were made (i.e. 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year) and the extent of pitting and/or cracking was evaluated and related to whether the cable had been grouted or not during the experiment.

Report 002: “Post-tensioning Strand Prototype Urethane Grouting- University of Virginia School of Law”- Prepared by Whitlock Dalrymple Poston and Associates, Inc.- July, 1997.

This report describes a prototype installation of urethane grout in two strand groups containing two strands in each group. Approximately two weeks after grout installation two individual strands were intentionally failed, removed and replaced as part of the overall prototype. The report discusses the effectiveness of the grouting system to completely fill the void between the strand and the sheath, the ability of the system to prevent the eruption of a strand if it fails after grouting and finally, to demonstrate that the strand can be removed and a new strand installed after it has been grouted.
